How to Use EBay Sales Reports

EBay offers an optional record keeping service for sellers known as sales reports. These reports help you to keep track of your eBay sales and your expenses and fees.

Instructions:

1) Subscribe to eBay Sales Report. EBay does not track the information for you unless you subscribe to the service. Search "Sales Report" in the Help section, and then click on the "Subscribe" link.

2) Choose a subscription level. The basic sales report tracks your total sales, successful listings, average sales price and total eBay and PayPal fees. Sales Report Plus will also track sales by category, selling format, end time and day and unpaid item information. Both subscription levels are free.

3) View your sales report at least once every 60 days. To keep the subscription active you have to view it at least once every 2 months or you will be automatically unsubscribed. To view the report go to your "My eBay" page and click on "Sales Report" on the left side of the page under "Subscriptions"

4) Customize the appearance of your reports by clicking "Report Preferences" on the left side of your sales report page.

5) Print your sales report for your business records. Each sales report page will show comparisons for a 3-month period. It is best to print the report every 3 months. Having these reports can be helpful when it comes time to prepare your taxes.
