How to Advertise Your Website on eBay

Advertising a website on a regular eBay listing is not allowed under eBay rules. The site does not allow advertising of other sites, but a site link can be used if it is a site that contains pictures or information about the item being sold. If the site sells the items or is a site that the eBay member profits from, it must be advertised in another way.

Instructions:

1) Create an About Me page to advertise your website. Websites, even those that sell items, are allowed on the Me page. Find the Me page link by going to the "Site Map" link at the top right of the page. Then, chose the "A-Z Index" link. The link for creating your own About Me page is the first link at the top of the list.

2) Write some text about your website on the About Me page and include a link to the site. Pictures relating to your website will attract more attention to the site itself.

3) List items for sale on eBay to attract people to your About Me page. There will be a link to the page on every listing.

4) Buy a classified ad from eBay. To get to the classified ad page, go through the "Sell" tab at the top of the page. Choose "Everything Else" and then the subcategory Information, "Products." Then, choose the subcategory there that best describes what you are advertising.

5) Advertise your website by using the listing to describe the site, how it will benefit the reader and by adding the URL to the ad. When you choose the price for the item, click the "Classified" tab just above the pricing area.
