Millions of items are listed on eBay every year. Many of these items sell, but others expire without being sold. Once the listing ends, you can still view it on eBay for up to thirty days from the date it expired or sold. Looking up these listings can give you a good idea of what an item might be worth or highlight listing techniques that were successful or unsuccessful.
Instructions:
1) Sign in to your eBay account by clicking the "Sign in" link at the top of the page next to the eBay logo and entering your user ID and password. If you do not have an eBay account, you can receive one by clicking the "Register" link to the right of the "Sign in" link. You must log in to an account to access expired listings.
2) Enter the desired search terms in the search field at the top of the page, underneath the eBay logo. You can choose a category from the drop-down menu to the right of the search field if desired; otherwise, leave it on "All Categories." Press "Enter" on your keyboard or click the "Search" button.
3) In the "Preferences" box on the lower left part of the screen, under the "Refine Search" box, click the "Completed listings" check-box in the "Show only" menu.
Tips and Warnings:
If the item price is red on a list of completed listings, it means the item did not sell; if the item price is green, it was sold.
